Michael Voss is set to be rewarded with a new contract in the coming weeks as Carlton sets itself for a run at a drought-breaking premiership.
A two-year extension for Voss is seen as a priority at Ikon Park, with talks on a fresh deal set to ramp up after Blues chiefs return from their Christmas break.
Discussions started late last year between club and coach and progressed steadily before the holiday period.
Only an unexpected new year snag will prevent the two parties agreeing on a commitment in the near future that would see Voss remain at the helm until the end of 2026.
The contract will cement a remarkable turnaround for Voss, who was under enormous pressure as recently as Round 15 last year with his side sitting 15th with four wins.
But a nine-match winning streak paved the way for first finals win in a decade in an elimination final victory over Sydney, before a thrilling semi-final upset of Melbourne.
The resurrection, which finally ended at the hands of the Brisbane Lions in a preliminary final at the Gabba, was one of the stories of the 2023 season.
Carlton’s 2024 campaign starts on March 8 at the same venue against the same opponent in the newly created Opening Round.
