“I’m serious. Honestly”: Liverpool great blasts Arsenal players after post-match celebrations

Jamie Carragher has potted Arsenal following the club’s 3-1 win over Liverpool which has blown the Premier League title race wide open.

The Gunners went within two points of the Reds courtesy of goals from Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard at the Emirates Stadium, the latter two coming after an equaliser in the form of a Gabriel Magalhaes own-goal.

Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard was seen taking pictures of club photographer Stuart MacFarlane in front of the stands of fans in North London.

The general celebrations from the winning team clearly irked Carragher, prompting the Liverpool great to blast the Gunners for their post-match actions.

Port Adelaide captain, Connor Rozee is confident teammate Zak Butters will stay at the club as rumours swirl around him leaving at the end of his contract.

“Dear me, just get down the tunnel,” Carragher said on Sky Sports.

“You’ve won a game, you got three points. You’re back in the title race, get back down the tunnel.

“I’m serious. Honestly.”

Fellow pundit and former Manchester United skipper Gary Neville also questioned Arsenal’s celebrations.

“The celebrations from Arsenal at the end weren’t of a team who thought they are going to go on and win the title,” he offered.

“They were of a team who didn’t want to be out of a title race. That was the relief that we saw at the end.

“I just still think there is a little bit of immaturity.”

Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal now find themselves on 49 points from 23 matches, two in arrears of Jurgen Klopp’s Reds.

Pep Guardiola’s reigning champions Manchester City ominously sit in third, five points off top spot with two games in hand.

Elsewhere overnight, Manchester United moved back to sixth position with a 3-0 victory over West Ham United thanks to a brace from Alejandro Garnacho at Old Trafford.

Wolves upset a hapless Chelsea at Stamford Bridge 4-2 having been a goal down inside 20 minutes.

Matheus Cunha netted a hat-trick as the visitors moved up to 10th, sending the Blues to 11th on the Premier League table.

And Bournemouth was held to a 1-1 draw by Nottingham Forest at home.
