Sydney FC forward Patrick Wood has made international headlines for all the wrong reasons, missing one of the easiest chances in football history in his side’s 3-1 win over the Central Coast Mariners on Saturday night.
With the Sky Blues comfortably ahead 3-0 in the first half-hour of play, Wood was gifted a golden chance to make it four when Mariners’ keeper Danny Vukovic slipped on the ball metres out from the goal line.
