WATCH | NZ Warriors coach Andrew Webster addresses losing streak

The One NZ Warriors have gone winless over the past four weeks, drawing with the Manly Sea Eagles in an extra-time thriller in Round 6, before then losing 30-22 to the Dragons, 27-24 to Gold Coast, plus 14-8 last week against the Newcastle Knights.

The Wahs had gotten off to an encouraging start prior to the current streak, so these results have begun creating doubt and frustration amongst the fan base with the side currently sitting 14th on the NRL ladder, three points shy of cracking the top eight.

While all NRL teams battle through and manage injuries throughout the season, the Auckland-based club have barely been able to field a full-strength side in 2024 and the loss of young playmaker Luke Metcalf (broken leg) has been particularly noticeable. In recent weeks, there has been suggestions both from fans and within the media that the Warriors' attack is becoming predictable without Metcalf in the lineup.

In his second year as an NRL head coach, it is of course Andrew Webster's job to figure it out and turn things around with the players available to him. When it was confirmed that Webby would be appearing on Running It Straight this week, SENZ was flooded with messages from the Warriors faithful wanting to field their questions to the coach.

Join Sam Hewat and Anthony Gelling for your weekly fix of rugby league, as they take a look at the Warriors' challenging Round 10 matchup against the Sydney Roosters, plus the rest of the competition, before they're joined by Webster.
