The Dolphins have soared into the NRL’s top four with a 28-24 win over the Manly Sea Eagles on Thursday night at Suncorp Stadium.
Although the game was a thrilling, back-and-forth affair, the biggest talking point to come out of it was a hamstring injury to Tom Trbojevic.
Trbojevic left the field in the 68th minute, with his side trialling by four points, after he collided with a cameraman on the touchline.
It has been confirmed that Trbojevic has suffered a Grade 2 Hamstring Tear, which could see him out for three-eight weeks.
The Sea Eagles fullback was attempting to make a late lunge at Dolphins winger Jack Bostock but ultimately came up short and suffered the injury.
Trbojevic has had a long history with hamstring issues, with the star fullback damaging the muscle four times in the last five years.
It is highly unlikely that Trbojevic will return before the sides for Game I are announced and considering his history of in-game injuries during the marquee fixture, his availability will be thrown into question.
The 2024 Origin series kicks off at Accor Stadium in Sydney as the Blues host the Maroons on Wednesday, June 5th.
