Slater opens up on preparation ahead of third series as Maroons’ coach

Queensland Maroons legend and current coach Billy Slater is on the brink of history as he aims to win a third-straight State of Origin series this year.

Slater has been a remarkable success in his first time as a head coach in rugby league, leading his side to two straight series wins in as many years.

The former Maroons’ fullback has done so with what many consider to be an understrength side compared to the NSW Blues teams of the last couple of years, but with his counterparts suffering a significant injury crisis, Queensland enter the 2024 series as favourites.
