Who are your club’s most consistent forwards?
We’ve looked past the one-hit wonders and those who have slowed down in recent times to determine the most important forward assets to every club in 2024.
From Joel Amartey being the centrepice of premiership favourite Sydney’s forward line to Ollie Henry’s rise as one of the league’s most potent inside 50, we’ve uncovered some intriguing streaks.
Here’s the best goal streak at every club across the 2024 season to date.
Izak Rankine (20 goals), Taylor Walker (15 goals) – streak: R4-ongoing
Both Izak Rankine and Taylor Walker have goaled in the last seven games.
The duo is also Adelaide’s two top goalkickers, while Darcy Fogarty trails them on 14. Fogarty has goaled in each game since Round 6 but has kicked eight goals in the last three weeks.
Joe Daniher (18 goals) – streak: OR-R5
Joe Daniher is leading Brisbane’s goalkicking in 2024 with 18 from 10 games. He had his most consistent period across the first five games of the season. While he went goalless in Rounds 6 and 7, he’s since goaled in each of Brisbane’s last three games.
Charlie Cameron is second on 17 goals and he’s goaled in Brisbane’s last four games.
Charlie Curnow (29 goals) – streak: OR-ongoing
Equal-Coleman leader Charlie Curnow has kicked a goal in every Carlton game so far in 2024. In fact, he’s kicked at least two in each appearance. He’s also kicked a goal in 57 consecutive games overall.
His forward teammate Harry McKay has also goaled in every game bar one and has a current streak of six games.
Jamie Elliott (14 goals) – streak: R1-ongoing
Collingwood’s equal top-goalkicker Jamie Elliott has goaled in every game he’s played since Round 1. Unfortunately, he’s out injured and won’t be able to pick up that streak again until after the bye.
Reef McInnes has also goaled in each game he’s played in, with his streak at six games. He’s kicked 11 goals in that time.
Jake Stringer (19 goals) – streak: R1-ongoing
Jake Stringer has goaled in every game so far in 2024 as he has recaptured some of his best form under Brad Scott.
Essendon’s leading goalkicker Kyle Langford has goaled in every game bar on this season, while he’s also kicked multiple goals in eight of the Bombers’ 10 games.
Josh Treacy (20 goals) – streak: R1-ongoing
Freo forward Josh Treacy has already kicked his career-high goals for a season in 2024 with 20 majors. He’s also goaled in each game this season.
His key teammate Jye Amiss has been consistent this year as well, kicking majors in seven of his nine games.
Ollie Henry (21 goals) - streak: R1 – ongoing
The Magpies were gutted to lose him and Ollie Henry is proving why in 2024. In his second season at the Cattery, he’s yet to go goalless and has kicked multiple majors on seven occasions.
With 21 goals to his name this year, he leads Geelong’s goalkicking alongside Tyson Stengle, who has only gone goalless once against St Kilda in Round 1 and is on track for a second All-Australian blazer.
Ben King (29 goals) – streak: R2 – ongoing
The Suns are impressing early in 2024 and Ben King is a key reason why. Currently the co-leader of the Coleman Medal, he’s kicked some 19 goals more than Ben Ainsworth in 2nd for Gold Coast.
King’s only goalless game came against the Crows in Round 1 in the slop, and he’s booted multiple goals in every game since.
Jesse Hogan (29 goals) – streak: R0 – ongoing
One of the surprise packets of 2024, no one has kicked more goals than Jesse Hogan this season and he’d done it through a power of consistency.
He’s yet to go goalless in 2024 and only once has he failed to kick multiple goals. Aaron Cadman also enjoyed a strong start to the season for a second-year player before a quiet fortnight, kicking at least one goal in every game from Opening Round to Round 8.
Dylan Moore (15 goals) – streak: R4 - R9
Inconsistency has plagued Hawthorn in 2024, especially early in the year, and that’s especially paramount in the forward 50.
Dylan Moore is his side’s leading goalkicker with 15 majors this season but a six-game streak of kicking goals came to the end on the weekend against Port Adelaide.
Mabior Chol has been emblematic of the Hawks’ inconsistency but for his troubles has only gone goalless twice in 2024 from eight games in heavy defeats against Gold Coast and Melbourne.
Bayley Fritsch (25 goals) – streak: R2 – ongoing
Gun forward Bayley Fritsch leads the Demons for goals scored with 25 but went goalless against Bulldogs in Round 1, a game in which he kicked three behinds.
Kysaiah Pickett has been the most consistent Melbourne forward in 2024. Despite missing three matches across the campaign, he’s goaled in eight of eight games in 2024.
Nick Larkey (19 goals) – streak: R1 - ongoing
A shining light in a dire season for the Kangaroos so far this season, Nick Larkey has shown consistency to kick a goal in every game. He’s had at least two shots on goal every round.
Paul Curtis kicked 12 goals across his first six games of the season, including at least one in every one of those games.
Eddie Ford has been subbed on or off in four of his seven games this year but has goaled on six occasions and is on a five-game streak.
Todd Marshall (12 goals) – streak: R2 – R6
Consistency amongst Port Adelaide’s forward line has been a concern; however, Willie Rioli has hit a career-best run of form, leading the team with 17 goals with an active streak of four consecutive games.
The clutch Darcy Byrne-Jones sits in second with 14, while Todd Marshall’s streak of goals from Round 2 through Round 6 (five games) remains the club’s longest streak of 2024.
Shai Bolton (17 goals) – streak: R2- R7
Shai Bolton leads the Tigers with 17 goals, scoring in five straight games between Round 2 and 7 (bye in Round 6).
Mykelti Lefau has been key for the Tigers in his first season, with goals in six of his eight games for a total of 10.
Tim Membrey (14 goals) – streak: R4 - ongoing
An impressive start to the season for Tim Membrey, leading the Saints with 14 goals, with an active streak of goals in six straight games.
Mitch Owens has a goal in seven of his last eight games, while Anthony Caminiti has bagged in every game he’s played for 2024 (six games, nine goals).
Joel Amartey (17 goals) – streak: R1 - ongoing
The Swans share of goal kickers says everything you need to know about their season.
Surprise package Joel Amartey leads the Swans with a goal in 10 straight games, managing a major in every game since Opening Round.
Will Hayward leads the team with 22 goals for the year, actively goaling in seven straight games.
Tom Papley has an active streak of six games with a major, while both Isaac Heeney and Chad Warner have scored in 10 of their 11 games.
Jake Waterman (29 goals) – streak: R1 - ongoing
Arguably the most impressive run of form across the competition has seen Jake Waterman finding the big sticks in all of the nine game he has featured in 2024, amounting to an equal Coleman-leading 29 goals.
Shoutout to Jamie Cripps, finding a goal in all of his first seven games this season.
Sam Darcy (18 goals) – streak: R2 - ongoing
While Aaron Naughton leads the Dogs with 22 goals for the year, it’s their shining star Sam Darcy who has found a goal in all of his appearances this season.
That’s 10 straight games, totalling 19 goals.
Alongside Darcy is former number one pick Jamarra Ugle-Hagan, managing just the 16 goals for the year however kicking goals in every game for 2024 (nine straight games).
