Collingwood veteran Scott Pendlebury won’t play in Friday’s clash against the Western Bulldogs, Magpies coach Craig McRae has confirmed.
The 36-year-old suffered a bicep/elbow injury in last Friday’s draw with Fremantle in Perth and has not been able to get up for the club’s upcoming clash after failing to get through main training.
While Pendlebury was initially confident that he’d be fine to play after going in for scans on Monday, he now joins Brody Mihocek (hamstring), Mason Cox (knee) and Joe Richards (foot) as casualties from the trip west.
It only adds to Collingwood’s growing injury toll with the likes of Jordan De Goey (abdominal), Will Hoskin-Elliott (hamstring), Jamie Elliott (vascular issue), Dan McStay (knee) and Tom Mitchell (foot) all unavailable as well as several other young players.
They are set to regain at least Jeremy Howe for Friday’s meeting with the Dogs at Marvel Stadium which begins at 7:40pm (AEST).
