UPDATE

Dustin Martin won’t take on the Crows this weekend, but Richmond will regain three stars for Thursday night’s clash.

Tim Taranto – who hasn’t played since Round 4 with a fractured wrist – has completed his rehabilitation and has been deemed available to play, while Shai Bolton (concussion) and Dion Prestia (managed) have both been ticked off to return.

Richmond is seeking to break an eight-game losing streak in Round 13 when taking on Adelaide, who are coming off a surprise loss to Hawthorn.

Tom Lynch and Jacob Hopper (both hamstring) will be fit in the coming fortnight, while Martin is expected to return and play his 300th game next week.

Marlion Pickett will miss 3-4 weeks with Saturday night’s calf strain, while Maurice Rioli (4-6 weeks, ankle) and Jack Ross (6-8 weeks, foot) are still some time away.

EARLIER

Richmond’s Dustin Martin has been ruled out of Thursday night’s clash with the Crows in Adelaide.

The Tigers star will not travel for the five-day turnaround game, leaving him to play his 300th AFL match against Hawthorn at the MCG next weekend.

Martin has been managed for the Round 13 meeting with the Crows which has been confirmed by coach Adem Yze who says the three-time Norm Smith Medallist is sick.

“The decision’s sort of been made for us,” Yze told reporters.

“He’s a bit crook today. We’ve only got one training session.

“It was always going to be based on how he got through today, but he’s actually ill today, so that’s taken out of our hands.

“He’ll miss this weekend and the silver lining to that is the fact that he’ll get to play his 300th in front of our crowd against the Hawks next week.

“We’re disappointed that he’s not available for this week, but for our supporters and our Tiger Army, they’ll get to see him (play his 300th next week), which will be great.”

Martin will become just the seventh Tiger to reach the 300-game milestone in the Round 14 game against the Hawks.

The undermanned Tigers are likely to get Dion Prestia and Shai Bolton back for the clash with the Crows, while Tim Taranto may also return from a broken wrist provided he successfully gets through training.

Richmond sits 17th with a 1-11 record, while the Crows are 14th with four wins, a draw and seven defeats.
