King and Whateley’s top four seeds after Round 13, 2024

David King and Gerard Whateley have named their top four seeds following Round 13 of the 2024 AFL season.

King and Whateley typically rank four teams they have the most confidence in going forward on a weekly basis throughout the year.

This week though, they have Sydney as the clear number one and have opted to seed four teams underneath them.

“Everyone is going to have Sydney at one,” King said on SEN’s Whateley.

“This is like favourite-out betting. You can’t have the Swans in your seedings.

“There’s three other teams of the four that can play in a Preliminary Final. It’s an early game of musical chairs, only three chairs, but we’ll have four teams.”

Whateley added: “They’re a given at one.”

KING

Sydney - Clearly on top.

1 - Carlton

2 - Collingwood

“We like watching Collingwood.

“If you lower your gloves against Collingwood - bang, bang, bang.”

3 - Essendon

4 - Brisbane

“I’m going to throw a cat amongst the pigeons.

“I think they can rally, but they might be the one that misses out on the chair at the end.

“They played some pretty good footy the other night.”

WHATELEY

Sydney - Clearly on top.

1 - Carlton

“We’ve found a way to have Carlton at No.1. Well done us!

“We had to play favourite-out to do it, but we got Carlton as the one seed in musical chairs.

“We’re along for the ride, have been for seven years.”

2 - Collingwood

“We like what Collingwood are doing through adversity.”

3 - Essendon

“I’ve got Essendon at three for the here and the now.

“I’m not put off by their two losses. They’re still playing some good footy.”

4 - Hawthorn

“How can you deny them at the moment with the form that they’re in.

“They’re so much fun to watch. I made a pledge with a correspondent last week that if they beat the Giants they would go into the seedings.

“It helps me that these are essentially two through five.”
