Back for another year, the SEN.com.au team gives you an insight into how every game will play out across the weekend.

Labelling something a ‘certainty’ in any sport is fraught with danger.

But we’ll attempt to find some anyway.

Here is what we consider certainties for the Round 15 Friday night clash between Carlton and Geelong.

Carlton

Cripps 25+ disposals

Patrick Cripps is in brilliant form in 2024 and has picked up 25+ disposals in six of his 13 games so far in 2024.

One of those came against Carlton last time where he had 29 touches to go with two goals.

Averaging 27 disposals this year, Cripps should reach that number again as he’s unlikely to be tagged by anyone at Geelong.

If there’s ever a midfield that the Brownlow winner is going to fill up against, it’s this one.

20+ is an absolute certainty and 25+ should be no problem on Friday night.

Curnow 2+ goals

We’ll keep going back to this one until proven otherwise.

The Coleman Medal leader has kicked at least two goals in every single game so far in 2024.

He kicked 3.2 to go with 14 disposals against Geelong last time, playing primarily on Jake Kolodjashnij.

If he gets that matchup again, expect Curnow to get a fair few chances and nail at least two.

Geelong

Miers for 20+ disposals, assist/kick 1+ goals

Reflecting over the bye, Gryan Miers admitted his last three games weren’t up to scratch.

With the benefit of a break and coming up against a team he dominated earlier in 2024, expect Miers to bounce back on Friday night.

He torched the Blues with 22 touches and two majors in Round 7 and with the Cats potentially needing a win to stay in the top eight, the 25-year-old will know it's time to deliver.

Miers has also kicked or directly assisted a goal in every game bar one in 2024.

Stengle to kick two or more goals

If Tyson Stengle is worth some of the figures being bandied about, he’ll come up clutch against the Blues in Round 15.

Still without a contract for next year, the latest reports suggest he’ll go to the highest Victorian bidder for a deal that could be worth upwards of $850,000 year.

A supremely talented small forward, the best in the league stand up when the heat is on and there will be several clubs keeping a close eye on Stengle on Friday night.

Only four times this year has he failed to kick at least two goals and he’s kicked 10 majors in four games against top eight sides this year.
