SEN’s Cameron Smith said he was left stunned after the Warriors’ 66-6 defeat at the hands of the Gold Coast Titans in Round 16.

The Warriors have struggled to recapture their form from 2023 which saw them one win away from their first Grand Final appearance since 2011.

Andrew Webster’s men went into the contest as favourites over the Titans who were sitting last on the ladder before the match.

Smith believes the team arrived with a poor attitude and resulted in the historic defeat which has raised serious questions on the state of the team.

“They rocked up on Saturday and it looked like they didn’t want to be there,” Smith said on SEN 1170 Breakfast.

“The Warriors just looked off right from the get go.

“To concede 66 points, they were scoring pretty much every five minutes of that game.

“The line breaks and the missed tackles is purely an attitude thing.

“You want and need to have an impact on the game, not just when you have the footy and things are going your way.

“The Warriors have battled injury but so has every other team this year.

“They look a shadow of the team they were this year.”

SEN’s Andrew Voss has put star prop Addin Fonua-Blake on notice after failing to deliver the same numbers he did last season.

Fonua-Blake will depart the Warriors at the end of the 2024 season to take up a deal with the Cronulla Sharks in 2025.

Voss further believes that the Warriors may release Fonua-Blake early from his contract if his form continues to wane.

“It’s a big statement but it’s hard to dispute,” Voss said on SEN 1170 Breakfast.

“The best way to show it would be to sit Fonua-Blake down, show him his best and what the Warriors are paying him to do and show him what he is doing now.

“You can count on one hand how many really good runs he has in a game.

“He’s lost his power or something but it could be a tap on the shoulder.”

The Warriors have fallen to 13th on the ladder and will look to bounce back in front of a sold out home crowd when they host the Brisbane Broncos on Saturday.
