David Schwarz names his predicted Preliminary Finalists

David Schwarz has named the four teams who he thinks will play in a Preliminary Final this season.

He believes that in-form sides in Sydney and Carlton are “absolute givens”, with Essendon and Brisbane also a heavy chance to be in the final four.

Schwarz suggested why each of these four teams will be in the second last week of the season on SEN WA Breakfast.

Sydney

“Definitely Sydney,” Schwarz said.

“They're fine.

“They've lost three games at a total of eight points, so they're going to be okay.”

Carlton

“100 percent will be there.

“They've got the firepower, and they've got the midfield.

“As long as (Jacob) Weitering stays fit, they're okay.”

Essendon

“I'm going say, oh jeez it breaks my heart… Essendon.

“If they beat Melbourne Saturday night, they're going to be in the top four.

“So it's a huge game for them, we can either close the gap or the gap widens.

“I've just got this feeling, they're a mongrel side.”

Brisbane

“I think Brisbane's run home is going to ensure that they're going to win enough games to certainly be there.

“You talk about firepower and you talk about grunt through the midfield, Lachie Neale is probably going to win another Brownlow (medal).”

Sydney, Carlton, Fremantle and Essendon currently sit in the top four.
