The Gold Coast Titans have announced the contract extension of NRL veteran Kieran Foran for the 2025 season.

The 33-year-old debuted back in 2009 for the Manly Sea Eagles and has had stints with the Parramatta Eels, Warriors and Bulldogs before joining the Titans in 2023.

2025 will be Foran’s 17th NRL season and The Daily Telegraph’s David Riccio declared that his extension is an important retention for the Titans who are yet to reach their full potential.

“The veteran Kieran Foran has extended his career by a further season at the Gold Coast Titans,” Riccio said on SEN 1170 Breakfast.

“This will take him through until the end of 2025 and it’s sensational news for Foran and the Titans.

“Every footy fan knows the amount of physical abuse that he has inflicted on himself by playing through injury and playing through so much torture on his body.

“He declared in this announcement that he is feeling fantastic and he’s playing fantastic. He looks fresh and it’s a massive credit to him and the Gold Coast Titans.

“It’s so important when you’re a club striving for success like the Titans to have that experience around.

“It’s especially important when they have young halves like Jayden Campbell and AJ Brimson developing their game.

“It’s outstanding that they can have Kieran Foran at the helm.”

Foran currently sits on 294 first grade games and will likely bring up his 300th milestone in Round 24 against the St George Illawarra Dragons.

SEN’s Greg Alexander commended Foran for his resilience after battling several on-field and off-field issues throughout his career.

“It’s amazing isn’t it,” Alexander said on SEN 1170 Breakfast.

“You look at his time at Parramatta and he was hobbling around the field and not playing much either. He only churned out nine games for Parramatta in 2016.

“Even when he was at the Dogs and the Warriors, at times you watched him and he was struggling to get around the field.

“It’s incredible he will go around for his 17th season and halfbacks are playing longer.

“None of them are talking about retiring yet.”

Foran will line up at halfback for the Titans in Round 19 against the Parramatta Eels on Saturday.
