Adam Simpson won’t coach West Coast for a final game, according to SEN WA’s Tim Gossage.

The departing coach was offered a farewell game against Brisbane on Sunday by CEO Don Pyke, but according to Gossage, he’s turned it down.

Gossage broke the news on X where he said: “Adam Simpson has coached his last game for the @WestCoastEagles … he will NOT coach a farewell game this weekend. @SENWABreakfast @SENWestAus .. Jarrad Schofield will be at the helm v Brisbane on Sunday.”

Gossage added that assistant coach Jarrad Schofield will lead the side on Sunday, as well as coaching the side on an interim basis.

The club officially parted ways with Simpson on Tuesday following 11 years at the club which included the 2018 premiership.

Simpson’s manager Shane Casley outlined the pros and cons of a potential farewell game on SEN’s Dwayne’s World prior to Gossage’s news, saying a decision would be made “some time tomorrow”.
