The One NZ Warriors are deep within must-win territory as the return home to Mount Smart this Friday.

Their heartbreaking 20-18 loss to the Canberra Raiders last Friday night put a significant dent in their hopes of making the top-eight.

However, they are not yet eliminated from contention and head coach Andrew Webster carries a determined belief that his side can win their remaining six games of the 2024 NRL season. But first, they have to get past the 17th-placed Wests Tigers.

Injuries to Taine Tuaupiki and Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad sees Webster's hand essentially forced to place Roger Tuivasa-Sheck at fullback, plus a selection of young guns in the centres with Ali Leiataua and Moala Graham-Taufa named, plus Ed Kosi in the No. 5 jersey usually worn by Marcelo Montoya.

The Warriors will run out a strong forward park featuring Addin Fonua-Blake, Wayde Egan, captain Mitch Barnett, Marata Niukore, Kurt Capewell, and Dylan Walker. The interchange consists of Freddy Lussick, Jackson Ford, Jazz Tevaga, and Leka Halasima, plus Tom Ale as the 18th man.

This week on Running It Straight, hosts Sam Hewat and Anthony Gelling are joined by Tigers legend Pat Richards as they preview the matchup. Before that, they look back at what went wrong for the Warriors in Canberra.

SENZ's Sam Hewat and Blake Ayshford will have live commentary of the One NZ Warriors vs Wests Tigers at Go Media Stadium, this Friday from 6pm, followed by the Parramatta Eels vs Melbourne Storm - all available on the SENZ app and all local frequencies.
