Rowing
The women's coxless pair of Kate Haines & Alana Sherman were knocked out in the repechage.

Equestrian
At the conclusion of the three-day team event, New Zealand finished 8th to equal for their worst finish in Olympic history. The trio of Clarke Johnstone, Jonelle Price and Tim Price had a final score of 134.6, falling behind bronze medalists Japan by 18.8 points.

“It was my mistake yesterday that dropped us out of the top contention," Jonelle Price told Sky Sport following the event.

“I'm gutted to have done that to the guys. Everyone has performed well this week up until (that) and it was just such a silly mistake yesterday, so I'm feeling pretty rough about it.”

As for the individual jumping event, Tim Price placed 6th in the final, Johnstone 18th, but Jonelle Price failed to qualify with a 40th-placed finish.

Tennis
The women's doubles pairing of World No. 1 Erin Routliffe and Wimbledon darling Lulu Sun were knocked out in the first round by Italy's Sara Errani and Jasmine Paolini. Seeded third for the tournament, the Italians won in straight sets 6-2, 6-3 at Roland-Garros.
