The NRL has partnered with Harvey Norman to celebrate the Women In League Round.

Aimed at nurturing the next generation of female leaders in Rugby League, Women In League Round takes place across Round 2 of the NRLW season and Round 22 of the NRL season.

Two new programs will accompany the Women In League Round - The new NRL Women In League Executive Mentoring Program and the NRL Women In League Internship Program.

“Harvey Norman are incredible supporters of women in Rugby League and with their generous support we’ve been able to develop two extremely valuable programs to be implemented and revised each year to ensure that we are attracting and retaining the best female talent, and that those women are able to continue to advance their careers and become the next leaders of our sport,” said NRL CEO Andrew Abdo in a statement.

Harvey Norman quotes: “We talk about leadership in our company. The NRL talks about female leadership and how they can get more executives coming through not just in the main office, but in the clubs as well. To be able to offer the internships for two amazing women, whoever they are – and no I am not on the panel – they are going to get access to the best the NRL’s got to offer in leadership and also the best at Harvey Norman. I can’t think of a more in depth internship. You are getting two views of the world.”

The NRL and Harvey Norman have also come together to introduce a charity initiative in a bid to tackle Ovarian Cancer by supporting Ovarian Cancer Australia.

At selected matches across the Round, Harvey Norman and the Rugby League Community will donate $1000 for every goal kicked to support Ovarian Cancer Australia.
