Kaylee McKeown and Cam McEvoy have dominated the pool on Day 7 of the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, taking Australia’s medal tally up to 13 in Swimming.

The veteran McEvoy started off the night with a gold in the 50m freestyle shortly before a show-stealing performance from McKeown.

McKeown made history for the Aussies, becoming the first individual athlete to win four gold medals in one competition as she took out first place in the 200m backstroke. The win for McKeown also makes her the first Australian to defend two gold medals.

Outside of the pool, there was more medal success for the Aussies with Saya Sakakibara taking out gold in the final of BMX racing.

Meanwhile, the Australian Men’s basketball team secured qualification to the quarterfinals despite a 77-71 loss to Greece.
