Noemie Fox has completed a remarkable family treble by claiming Olympic gold in the women’s kayak cross final at the Paris Games.
Noemie, the younger sister of two-time Paris gold medallist Jessica, conquered all before her in the chaotic new event which was debuting in this Olympics.
The 27-year-old was in disbelief after adding a third gold of the 2024 Games to the growing Fox trophy cabinet after Jess won both the C1 and K1 events.
“It just feels like a dream,” Fox told Channel Nine.
“I can't believe it’s mine. Today just panned out to perfection.
“It's a dream come true. This is the biggest possible reward. It's unreal. It's just insane.”
A star paddler in her own right, Noemie has now stepped out of the shadow of her more famous sibling to stand atop the dais with a gold medal hanging proudly around her neck.
The victory took Australia’s gold medal tally to 13 (plus 11 silver and 8 bronze), which has the nation placed third on the standings behind China (21) and the USA (20) on Day 10.
