Which players should have been given coaches votes for their Round 21 performances?

Champion Data’s Daniel Hoyne has named the five players who were perhaps overlooked by the coaches on the weekend.

The below guys ranked high in Champion Data’s ratings yet did not receive any votes (or less than they should have).

See the players below:

Toby Nankervis (Richmond)

“I thought it was a fantastic battle with him and Tristan Xerri,” Hoyne said on SEN’s Sportsday.

“Xerri got some votes (two), but unfortunately ‘Nank’ didn’t get any votes. He was the third highest rated player on the ground.

“No ruckman had more influence from their ruck work on the weekend than what Nank did with his 15 hit-outs to advantage.”

Jack Crisp (Collingwood)

“A Champion Data favourite, Crisp was the highest rated player on the ground. Didn’t get a vote from the coaches.

“I probably understand that as it was a game that you need to watch back in replay to appreciate what he did. He was the eighth highest midfielder on the weekend.

“His ball use from his 19 disposals was unbelievable.”

Ollie Wines (Port Adelaide)

“Only got the one vote from the coaches, but we had him as the number one player on the ground.

“Fifth highest rated player for the weekend. 18 contested possessions, which he hasn’t done since winning the Brownlow three years ago.

“He’s in some good form.”

Massimo D’Ambrosio (Hawthorn)

“The highest rated player on the ground against GWS, did not get a vote from the coaches.

“12th highest rated player for the round. Only Jeremy Cameron and Luke Davies-Uniacke had more impact in Round 21 with their ball use than what Massimo did.

“He has to be the All-Australian winger if they’re picking deadset wingers.”

Jaspa Fletcher (Brisbane)

“Their highest rated player on the ground, didn’t get a vote from the coaches.

“That was the second best game of his career on the weekend.”
