With news of the Geelong champion’s retirement on Tuesday, Gerard Healy and Champion Data’s Daniel Hoyne thought now would be the perfect time to unveil the ‘Tom Hawkins Medal’.

The medal that Healy has dubbed “the real Coleman” accumulates goals and goal assists, and it’s Hawkins who sits head and shoulders above the rest of the competition over the last 10 years.

“Over the last 10 years Tom Hawkins sits on top of the ‘Tom Hawkins Medal’ with 658 goals and goal assists,” Hoyne said on SEN’s Sportsday.

“It is 70 more than the next highest player, which is ironically his current teammate in Jeremy Cameron.”

The Cats travel to Perth for a crucial game against Fremantle on Saturday afternoon.
