Campbell Brown is keen to follow Shalook out of the Mitch Beer stable.
Adding Shalook to his famous blackbook, Brown was taken by her second-up performance at Kembla Grange on Saturday.
She finished third in the Benchmark 64 over 1200m and ran well above a horse that was rated a $26 chance prior to the jump.
“Mitchy Beer has a nice horse called Shalook,” Brown told SENTrack.
“First-up over the 1200m at Wyong he was pretty solid at a Benchmark 64 and then went to the races at Kembla Grange on Saturday and I got some mail that he thought it was going to run well.
"It went forward for jockey Blake Spriggs and boxed on really well I thought when running third at $6 the place and it probably wasn't in the best part of the track as the horses that swamped them late came spearing down the middle part of the track.
"Being a little bit fitter next start, at around the 1200-1300m trip third-up, drawing a gate and if it gets a soft lead up front that it will be a betting proposition and you'll probably get a half decent price.
"Mitchy Beer places them so well and this looks like a nice mare that will be ready to rock and roll next start.”
