The final round of the season is here and it will be filled with a mix of season-defining games and dead rubbers.

Luke Hodge has given his tips for all nine games, making the call that Carlton will be the team that misses the eight.

The undermanned and battered Blues must beat an in-form St Kilda, or hope Fremantle loses to Port Adelaide.

Speaking on SENQ, Hodge gave his tips for the weekend:

Melbourne versus Collingwood

“I think Collingwood. Their last month has actually been okay.”

Geelong versus West Coast

“I think the Eagles’ average losing margin in Geelong recently has been about 85 points. I think that’s going to be unders. This could be over a ton. Geelong have the manpower to kick a big score.”

Richmond versus Gold Coast

“The Suns will win this one away from home. Finals are gone, I think they’ll win. Richmond aren’t great, but they’ve got a few retirements so it could be a game.”

Hawthorn versus North Melbourne

“This is the same. Hawthorn should win this one convincingly. Alastair Clarkson will be doing his upmost to try and put a stop to Hawthorn’s finals campaign.”

Brisbane versus Essendon

“With the football they’ve played since about round five the Lions have been as good as any club. They should get home easily.”

Sydney versus Adelaide

“I’ll go Sydney.”

Western Bulldogs versus GWS

“A coin toss, but I’ll probably go the Dogs down in Ballarat.”

Carlton versus St Kilda

“I’m going to go St Kilda, with Carlton to miss the eight.”

Fremantle versus Port Adelaide

“Another coin toss, I’ll go Freo at home.”
