Several star players across the competition have been recognised at the 2024 AFL Awards night.
Before the announcement of the All-Australian team, several individual awards were handed out at Centrepiece in Melbourne.
The first awards handed out were the AFLCA honours with Collingwood’s Nick Daicos winning the Champion Player ahead of Patrick Cripps and Isaac Heeney, while Harry Sheezel took out the Best Young Player.
In the AFLPA awards, Western Bulldogs skipper Marcus Bontempelli claimed the Best Captain, while Port Adelaide’s Zak Butters took him the Robert Rose Most Courageous Player for a second-straight year, while West Coast’s Harley Reid won the Best First Year Player.
Next up was the Rising Star, with Geelong’s Ollie Dempsey beating out the likes of North Melbourne's George Wardlaw and Brisbane's Kai Lohmann to claim the gong.
The biggest award on in the AFLPA Leigh Matthews Trophy for MVP was also claimed by a multiple-time winner, with Western Bulldogs captain Bontempelli winning the award for the third time.
Bontempelli also claimed the award in 2021 and 2023.
