JD Hayes has rated Lindsay Park’s best winning chance for the weekend.
Siding with last-start winner Arkansaw Kid, Hayes says the recently gelded four-year-old has thrived since that gear change and was ultra impressive last week at Caulfield when winning the Regal Roller Stakes.
Sticking to the sprinting trips, Hayes says the stable has high hopes for this galloper this spring with a potential Everest tilt a lofty goal they’ve set themselves.
“I think our best chance of the day will be Arkansaw Kid,” Hayes told SENTrack.
“The ultimate gear change has really improved him, he was quite emphatic the other day so we’re happy to keep him to the sprinting trips.
“We’re also happy to change course if we feel like there’s some nice prize money on offer over the 1400-1600m.
“There is a pie in the sky idea that we’re hoping to possibly get into an Everest, he’d have to keep winning but if he’s able to get into a race like that he definitely needs to keep sprinting.”
