Sports Entertainment Network (SEN) is delighted to announce that Corey Parker will join Ian Healy as the new co-host of SENQ Breakfast, rebranded as "Breakfast with Corey Parker & Ian Healy," starting in January 2025. This marks a new chapter for the popular morning show, which has become a mainstay for sports enthusiasts in Brisbane and throughout Queensland.

Corey Parker, a legendary figure in the NRL and a seasoned sports pundit, has been a regular contributor on SENQ 693am across the 2024 NRL season. He expressed his excitement about taking on this new role:

"It has been a real privilege to be a guest host and pundit for SENQ 693am Breakfast with Pat & Heals this year, and I couldn’t be more delighted to announce that I am joining the team at SENQ 693am in a permanent role. I’m looking forward to working with Heals and the crew, as they are people that I have huge respect for, as we cover all the big issues across the NRL and sport in general along with some great entertainment throughout the SENQ airwaves."

"It’s a privilege to share the studio with an icon of sport in Heals, and to partner and work with the team at SEN Breakfast/SENQ. I’m looking forward to bringing in the big-name guests, having strong debate on all the tough topics, and engaging with our passionate audience to deliver a first-class sports show. I couldn’t be more excited for what this show will deliver."

Pat Welsh, who has been a pivotal figure on the breakfast show since launch, shared his thoughts on the transition:

"It's the perfect timing for me to take a step back after close to 50 years in the industry. It's not goodbye just yet; I'll be around to fill in when Corey or Heals take time off, and I'm excited to still be involved in 2025! Corey will slide into this role like hand in glove. I think Corey will be a media star for years to come. Corey's opinionated, and that's a good thing; he calls it how he sees it, and I know he'll be a big hit with the SENQ faithful. You'll have bona fide legends of Australia's two favourite sports (Rugby League and Cricket) doing their thing every morning, and I can't wait to listen."

Ian Healy, who has been the cornerstone of the SENQ Breakfast Show, expressed his confidence in Corey:

"I've been super impressed with Corey's enthusiasm for the role; he has transferred his relentless professionalism as a player into his preparation and performance on air. While Patty won't be around full-time in 2025, he's going to be a very handy fill-in coming off the bench, and it's great that he remains involved in SENQ 693am."

Brad Johnson, SENQ 693am's Group Commercial Director, highlighted the commercial and audience benefits of Corey’s full-time involvement:

"Corey will bring another dimension to the SENQ Breakfast show. His opinions on all things sport are heavily discussed and widely shared. This gives our commercial partners access to both unique audio and video alignments, and huge social media opportunities. As well as being the all-time leading point scorer for the Broncos, there are few media personalities in Brisbane that drive the sporting agenda like Corey does, and we are thrilled he's joining the Breakfast team with Heals on a full-time basis from 2025. Corey has already worked closely with a number of our commercial partners in 2024, achieving some fantastic results along the way. We look forward to seeing what he can do for all of our valued partners next year."

SENQ 693am would also like to take this opportunity to extend its deepest thanks to Pat Welsh for his exceptional service and contribution to SENQ 693am. While Pat will be taking a step back from daily hosting duties, he will continue to make regular guest appearances throughout the year, ensuring that his valued voice and insights remain part of the SENQ 693am family.
