Collingwood is set to miss out on a key trade period target, with Adelaide defender Mark Keane set to recommit to the Crows according to SEN’s Sam Edmund.
Edmund is reporting that Keane has agreed to a new contract with Adelaide despite already being tied to the club until the end of the 2025 season.
Collingwood have been linked to the Irishman throughout the season as they were hoping to bring back the defender who started his AFL journey in black and white in 2019.
Keane played five games for the Magpies across 2020 and 2021 before heading home to Ireland during the COVID-19 pandemic.
He’s since played 26 games for the Crows after returning to AFL footy and played 21 games last season.
Collingwood coach Craig McRae has been vocal in his pursuit of key talls this trade period, but the club will now have to look elsewhere after missing out on Keane.
