Carlton has delisted five players following the conclusion of their 2024 AFL campaign.
Those names that will not be at the club in 2025 are Jack Martin, David Cuningham, Caleb Marchbank, Alex Mirkov and Dom Akuei.
Martin played 56 games for the Blues across eight seasons at the club, with his career tally at 151. He’s been rumoured to join a WA club this off-season and he can now join either Fremantle or West Coast as a delisted free agent.
Another Blue who joined from a rival AFL club is Caleb Marchbank, who has been delisted following 56 games for the club. The former No. 6 pick also played seven games for GWS in 2015 and 2016.
The other delisted Blue with plenty of AFL experience is David Cuningham who played 58 games for the club after being drafted at pick No. 23 in the 2015 Draft. Cuningham dealt with a raft of injuries across his eight years at the club.
Mirkov and Akuei were let go without playing an AFL game.
Carlton list boss Nick Austin thanked the quartet for their efforts.
“David and Caleb have persevered through adversity throughout their extended careers at Carlton. Their resolve to continue to front up and give themselves every chance to overcome each challenge is a testament to them and will hold them in good stead with whatever the step is that they choose to take,” Austin said.
“Jack also showed a resilient mindset through his five seasons and has made some lasting friendships at the football club, while Alex and Dom brought great energy around the Club over their time with us, each earning their opportunity to be part of an AFL program via unique pathways.
“We thank all five players for their commitment during their time in Navy Blue.”
