St Kilda will be doing everything possible to lure Finn Callaghan out of GWS in the next 12 months, according to SEN’s Sam Edmund.
The No.3 pick in the 2021 National Draft has played 50 games, including 24 in 2024, emerging as a talented midfield prospect.
He is contracted for the 2025 season, but the Saints are reportedly very keen to lure the Mordialloc and St Bede's boy home.
“He signed a new two-year deal very early in 2023, so he is contracted for 2025. This is a big one for the next few months,” Edmund told SEN’s Whateley.
“The Giants have him as an absolute priority and he does love it up there at the club and he does love Sydney, but the Saints could not be more keen for this player.
“They’ve made no secret of their desire to bring some of these Bayside boys home. They’re trying to set themselves up as a destination club for these guys, much like Geelong has done with some of the country kids.
“This is a decision he will need to make in the months to come. More accurately, he’ll be given a decision he needs to make. The Saints will come hard.”
Callaghan averaged 22.9 disposals, 3.4 clearances, 3.8 inside 50s and 2.8 marks per game in 2024.
