Tom Morris has rung the Trade Bell!

See his thoughts on a number of players set to feature in next month’s trade period.

Jack Lukosius (Gold Coast)

“He wants to get to Port Adelaide next year,” Morris told SEN Whateley.

“You go to the Brownlow and you're looking around and you're thinking, ‘What am I seeing?’.

“I'm looking at Connor Rozee, Zak Butters and Jason Horne-Francis and I'm looking at Jack Lukosius and they're all chatting and having conversations and I’m thinking, ‘I wonder if this contracted Gold Coast Suns player wants to play for Port this year?’.

“And so, it's proven that this morning. His team told Port Adelaide late last night that he would like to be traded there.

“The Adelaide Crows would have liked to have him, and they would have preferred to get him (then not), but they don't see it as the end of the world. They've got their eyes elsewhere.

“Port have offered a six-year deal and his contract for the next two years at the Gold Coast Suns was about $1.9 million all up, about $950,000 a year.

“So, this is not an easy deal necessarily to get done because Port's first pick at the moment is pick 36.”

Dan Houston (Port Adelaide)

“What the Lukosius deal does do is it opens the door now for Dan Houston I think to leave Port so they can get a draft pick or two in.

“Port could use those draft picks or one of those draft picks to get Lukosius from the Gold Coast Suns.

“Dan Houston wants to come to Victoria, we know that.

“But his manager, Nick Gieschen has been very careful not to prioritise one club over another because you don't nominate a club unless you know you can get there.

“I think in Dan Houston's case, he's got four years remaining on a deal … so Port have set a high price of two first rounders.

“But if you get offered pick seven or eight, you're not going to ask for a second 1st rounder.

“But if you get offered a pick in the teens, you probably want two of them.

“Either way, North Melbourne, Carlton and St Kilda … there’s a number of clubs keen on Houston and he will end up in Victoria.

“I think now it's just a matter of where and what for.

“I think where he wants to go is largely dependent on who can get a deal done with Port, so there's still a bit of work to do on this.”

Isaac Cumming (GWS)

“He had his medicals yesterday in South Australia and he was flying out back to Sydney last night.

“He's got a decision to make again between Port Adelaide and Adelaide, so it's almost like a Lukosius 2.0 … except this is a bit different because he's a free agent so it’s not like either club has to trade for him.

“There are some good offers on the table, and he doesn't stay at the Giants now because he's told them he wants to go to South Australia.

“But there's no doubt that the Adelaide Crows would like to get one back on Port here.”

Harry Perryman (GWS)

“We wait on Harry Perryman as well.

“Collingwood have come very late for him.

“We know that Port are keen and they've been keen probably for the longest.”

Alex Neal-Bullen (Adelaide)

“Then Alex-Neal Bullen will get to the crows.

“So, there's a bit happening in South Australia.”
