Which players should have been given coaches votes for their finals week three performances?

Champion Data’s Daniel Hoyne has named three players who were perhaps overlooked by the coaches on the weekend.

The below guys ranked high in Champion Data’s ratings yet did not receive any votes.

See the players below:

Nick Blakey (Sydney)

“Nick Blakey did get the two votes, so he wasn't completely missed,” Hoyne said on SEN Sportsday.

“But we had him as the second-highest rated player on the ground.

“That was his best performance (of the finals).”

Tom Stewart (Geelong)

“Tom Stewart didn't get a vote.

“I was staggered he didn't get a vote from either coach.

“He was the second-highest rated player on the ground.

“That was his best performance for the season. He was able to generate six scores directly from his intercept work, which no player has ever done in a final before.”

Cam Rayner (Brisbane)

“I was also surprised that Cam Rayner didn't get a vote.

“I thought if Cam Rayner didn't play in that second half, Brisbane probably don't walk away with a win.

“That was the second-best half that he’s had so far this year.

“Putting him on the radar as well, he was also the number one player on the ground in Round 19 v Sydney which could hold him in good stead this week.”
