Josh Jenkins has outlined Melbourne’s biggest hits and misses from the last five years of drafting and recruiting players.

The former Adelaide Crows forward will assess each of the 18 clubs on AFL Trade Radio and provide what he believes have been the hits and misses when it comes to player acquisition over the last half decade.

Read his thoughts on the Demons below:

Melbourne hits

“In terms of their big hit, I think you have just got to absolutely give it to them for Luke Jackson, Kysaiah Pickett and Trent Rivers,” Jenkins said on The Late Trade.

“All in the same draft (in 2019), all three became premiership players. That is a massive tick for them.

“Perhaps they don’t get to a Grand Final or win a premiership without those three guys.”

Melbourne misses

“The big miss, their past two years of trades,” Jenkins added.

“I think they are zip from six. Brodie Grundy, Lachie Hunter, Josh Schache, Jack Billings, Tom Fullarton and Shane McAdam.

“They are zip from six on the trade table in the past two years and that has got to be a big miss.”
