Carlton could pursue St Kilda key forward Tim Membrey in the upcoming trade period.
Membrey is a free agent, with interest reportedly coming from North Melbourne as the Saints weigh up whether to offer him a new contract.
Sam Edmund believes the Blues had interest in the 30-year-old last year and the door is ajar for them to make a play again in 2024.
“I wouldn’t shut the door. Carlton remains a possibility for Tim Membrey,” Edmund told AFL Trade Radio.
“They were interested 12 months ago, but he was contracted then and it just got a bit too hard.
“They’re still interested is my understanding. To what level? I wouldn’t say they’re falling over themselves to try and get him in, but it’s still a proposition that Membrey could join the Blues.
“It is less likely than likely, but the door is ajar.”
Membrey played 19 games for the Saints in 2024, kicking 30 goals and averaging 5.2 marks per game.
