Josh Jenkins has outlined Hawthorn’s biggest hits and misses from the last five years of drafting and recruiting players.
The former Adelaide Crows forward will assess each of the 18 clubs on AFL Trade Radio and provide what he believes have been the hits and misses when it comes to player acquisition over the last half decade.
Read his thoughts on the Hawks below:
“Back in 2019 they picked up a South Australian,” Jenkins told The Late Trade.
“In terms of their big hit, Will Day is the one for me.
“He was Pick 13 in an incredibly strong 2019 Draft.
“He was a rangy and athletic type and not many will be able to oppose that pick.”
“The big miss though in the 2020 Draft is Denver Grainger-Barras at Pick 6,” Jenkins added.
“He showed some flashes and some glimpses, but it hasn’t been easy at all.
“It hasn't worked out for him or for them. But what I will say on that draft, it was not the strongest of all time.
“The 2020 Draft is very, very skinny. So, they're not on their own when it comes to missing in the 2020 Draft overall.”
