He’s in a contract year and naturally, clubs are keeping a close watch on Bryce Cotton according to the NBL Overtime Panel.
While the four-time MVP has called Perth home for the past six seasons, rival clubs could be preparing to pounce on the Wildcats.
“I can confirm that I have spoken to a couple of clubs, and they are monitoring the Bryce Cotton contract situation very closely,” Peter Hooley said.
“As you would - four-time MVP, out of contract, no extension currently. Why would you not try and pick up the phone and try and see what’s going on there and wait to see what plays out there.
“If Bryce Cotton at the end of the year was a free agent, every team is going to pick up the phone and say, ‘how do we get him’.”
NBL legend Lanard Copeland added the “big teams will definitely pick up the phone”.
Cotton is averaging 18.8 points per game, the lowest rate in his career, as the Wildcats battle through a 1-3 start to the season.
Perth travels to Cairns to face the Taipans on Thursday night at 7.30pm AEDT live on ESPN.
