Carlton forward Matt Owies is weighing up his next move with the small forward certain to leave the Blues this trade period according to SEN’s Sam Edmund.

The out-of-contract forward kicked 33 goals last season but is on the outer at Ikon Park.

After being told to look around this off-season, Owies has met with both West Coast and Gold Coast and Tom Morris believes he’s more likely to be an Eagle than a Sun in 2025 as things stand.

Morris’ update follows Edmund’s story where he stated that Owies’ tenure at Carlton is over.

“I think West Coast as we sit here right now is more likely than Gold Coast,” Morris told The Trade Feed.

“But again, with Matt Owies, he hasn't made a call yet and he'll do that over the next day or two.

“I assume that will be a trade. If he’s a delisted free agent, then it's a bit different as well.

“But I'll put West Coast as we sit here right now slightly ahead of the Gold Coast Suns for Matt Owies.”

Edmund’s report stated that Owies could be on the move as early as Monday ahead of Wednesday’s trade deadline.

A trade with the Eagles would likely involve a pick in the 60s.
