Renowned player agent Liam Pickering has reflected on his involvement in perhaps the biggest AFL player move of all-time.
That move involved legendary forward Lance Franklin and his choice to join Sydney as a free agent in 2013 after nine seasons and 182 games with Hawthorn.
While most at the time felt Buddy was headed to GWS, Pickering says that Franklin always wanted to head to the Swans instead.
The player agent revealed some fascinating insights into the move such as Buddy’s reaction to the Swans signing Kurt Tippett – which he thinks would cost him his move to the club – as well as finding out the huge length of the deal and GWS’ negotiations behind the scenes.
Watch Pickering discuss the move on AFL Trade Radio below.
