Tim Membrey has emerged on the radar of Collingwood, according to AFL Media’s Cal Twomey.
The 30-year-old forward is out of contract at St Kilda and has not yet been offered a new deal for 2025.
Twomey understands that the Magpies are showing some interest in the 179-game, 293-goal Membrey who booted 30 majors for the Saints in 2024.
“Collingwood has emerged as a possible home for Tim Membrey,” Twomey said on AFL Trade Radio’s Gettable.
“The out-of-contract Saint has so far been without a home and without a deal for next year.
“The Pies are understood to have shown interest recently. That’s a bit of a watch this space.
“He has been an unrestricted free agent. One of the great delisted free agency stories back in the day from Sydney to St Kilda.
“He’d be able to come as either a very late trade in terms of one of these picks that aren’t going to be used out the back given the free agency period has now closed. Or potentially wait until the DFA (delisted free agent) window if not offered a deal by St Kilda.
“Still a little bit of water to go under the bridge on that one, but that’s something that’s emerged of late.”
Membrey, a former Swan, has been linked with both Essendon and Carlton in recent times.
His Saints teammate Jack Hayes recently completed a medical with the Magpies which makes their reported interest in Membrey even more intriguing.
