The barrier draw for the $5 million Caulfield Cup has been finalised.

Race favourite Buckaroo will jump from barrier eight for jockey Joao Moreira as trainer Chris Waller looks to claim his second Caulfield with his first coming in 2020 with Verry Elleegant.

Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott will saddle up one runner in the 2400m race with Eliyass the likely leader albeit from a tricky gate in 21 as Waterhouse looks to win her second Caulfield Cup.

Japanese galloper Warp Speed will jump from barrier 19 and will take great experience having put together a classy piece of work on the course-proper on Tuesday morning with Kosi Kawakami in the saddle.

SENTrack’s Gareth Hall has named the three biggest winners and losers out of the draw.

WINNERS

1. Buckaroo (8)

“Buckeroo is clearly the biggest winner out of the draw,” Hall said.

“Will start a strong favourite in the 2024 Caulfield Cup and he’s the one I want to be on.”

2. Zardozi (12)

“Cracking draw for Zardozi after a gallant runners-up last start, will sit midfield off the fence and she’ll get a lovely run.”

3. Sayedaty Sadaty (2)

“Can stay off the fence from barrier two for Benny Thompson, will settle closer and will get cover.”

LOSERS

1. Eliyass (21)

“He’ll go forward but will have to do plenty of work to get into a spot.

“You’ll get a better price after that draw.”

2. Land Legend (1)

“No horse has won from barrier one since 1941 and Zac Purton will need to produce one of his best ever rides from there.”

3. Warp Speed (19)

“Bloody tough draw for the Japanese raider who is having his first look around Caulfield in race conditions.

“Not sure what they do from that gate.”
