The third Friday night meeting of the 24/25 racing season is in Launceston this week with an eight-race program.
The rail is +8m 1200m-W/P; +6m Remainder after being +5m last Friday. It's a big watch on the weather, though, with significant rainfall forecast on Friday.

Race 3 – 12. Azonto
Talented 3YO filly who could easily be unbeaten after two starts. She overcame a wide run to win on debut in a race of some depth before ducking & weaving from back in the field to just miss behind Wheeling last start. She should settle closer to the speed from a better draw and the rise to 1220m looks ideal.
Race 7 – 5. Royal and Tough
It’s a play here that the forecast rain arrives and that by this stage of the night, runners are working their way down the outside. Royal and Tough made a super return over an unsuitable 1009m first-up behind the winning machine Durazzo. This distance is still short of his best, but if the track plays as I suspect it might, he’s the one I want to be with.
Race 5 – 8. Pinandi
Spring Bean likely comes up a prohibitive favourite in the first leg of the quaddie, so it may pay to look for something that can run a race on an each-way basis. Pinandi has been a far better horse on the grass since joining Michael Trinder, and her only grass run over a staying trip was a strong win in Hobart. She’ll need a heady ride as an off-pace horse drawn barrier 1, but she handles the sting out of the ground and has proven to run the trip.
