Josh Jenkins has outlined Brisbane’s biggest hits and misses from the last five years of drafting and recruiting players.
The former Adelaide Crows forward will assess each of the 18 clubs on AFL Trade Radio and provide what he believes have been the hits and misses when it comes to player acquisition over the last half decade.
Read his thoughts on the Lions below:
“For their big hit, you can take your pick, but I think luring Joe Daniher up north is hard to pass up,” Jenkins told The Late Trade.
“It’s hard to beat because he's been at the very peak of his powers and the top of the pops or in the top couple when it comes to key forwards for all of his time as a Brisbane Lion.
“As I said, he delivered on that with the premiership in his last ever game of AFL footy.
“You can also say nailing Darcy Wilmot and Kai Lohmann at 16 and 20 in the same draft is pretty handy as well.”
“The big miss for them is pretty difficult to find,” Jenkins added.
“Maybe you can say Deven Robertson at pick 22 is a miss.
“But I think he'll I think he'll go to another club and be a really consistent AFL player. He just can't break into a really dynamic midfield.
“As the saying goes, it’s never as bad as it seems, but in this case with Brisbane it might be better than it seems.
“There's more success in store for these Lions.”
