Leading form analyst Shane Ciurleo says Pride Of Jenni is an easy bet to have in the Cox Plate.
The Ciaron Maher star heads into Saturday’s Cox Plate with plenty of hype mainly due to his brutal front running racing pattern.
She’s the current $4.60 second favourite after her runners-up performance last Saturday in the King Charles and Ciurleo believes the quick back-up is a sign of a horse that’s ready to peak in a race like the Cox Plate.
“She was brave last start and it was a nice top off run for Saturday in the Cox Plate,” Ciurleo told SENTrack’s Star Sports Happy Hour.
“The data lovers will tell you that the seven-day backup is profitable on turnover, the big boys love it and they bet it blind because it’s profitable on turnover, as I said.
“What the form guide doesn’t tell you - and I’m big on this, I’m not going to start a campaign on this, but the hyperbaric chamber again is not going to be in the form guide - but this Bong Bong farm that Ciaron Maher uses is seeing him churning out winners.
“He’s got the best training setup in Australia and he’s using all those tools to his advantage.
“I’ve got absolutely no qualms at all on Pride Of Jenni being on the seven-day backup with the recovery she was afforded.
“She’ll lead, she’ll run along and I won’t be upset to see her win.
“I think she’s an obvious easy bet to have because she’s going to lead and race the same way she races every other time and that’s proven very hard to get past.”
Declan Bates will continue his affiliation with the mare who will jump from barrier 7.
