Four of the five early morning results have been decided in the final minutes of the Premier League overnight as Man City momentarily surge to the top of the table.

The reigning champions entered their match against Southampton as heavy favourites, with most believing there was a good chance of seeing plenty of goals scored.

But the Saints made life tough for the home side, as they only managed to walk away 1-0 winners – thanks to Erling Haaland’s 11th goal of the season coming inside the first five minutes of the match.

Aston Villa, another top four side this season, let three points get away from them in the dying moments against Bournemouth who have proven to be quite competitive against the top echelon of the competition so far.

Including a victory against Arsenal from the matchday prior, Bournemouth’s only disappointing performance against a big six club so far this season was against Liverpool where they lost 3-0.

Their 1-0 loss to Chelsea and now 1-1 draw with Villa gives the Cherries much needed confidence for the rest of the season.

Brentford have entered the top 10 of the premier league table after a dramatic 4-3 victory over Ipswich Town.

Ipswich, who are still yet to win a game during their first season back in the top flight, started promisingly after leading 2-0 inside 31 minutes.

However, the Bees would then take control of the contest, which involved three goals being scored inside 20 minutes to gain the lead early on in the second half.

And despite Ipswich equalising in the 86th minute through Liam Delap, Brentford eventually got the job done thanks to a Bryan Mbeumo penalty being converted comfortably in the 96th minute.

The chaos didn’t stop there however, as Brighton and Wolverhampton played out one of the most remarkable matches in premier league history.

A Brighton side, who had the opportunity to enter the top four by the end of matchday nine, lead 2-0 in the 85th minute against a Wolves side that was winless heading into this contest.

However, a Rayan Ait Nouri goal from a corner sparked the game back into life, leaving Wolverhampton with five minutes to try and find an equaliser.

And despite finding themselves on the wrong end of a 4v1 counter attack in the 92nd minute, a crucial intercept from Thomas Doyle set up an immediate counter attack that found Matheus Cunha on the end of the equalising goal.

In the later game, Fulham couldn’t wrestle off a plucky Everton side as both teams settled for a 1-1 draw. Similarly to the Aston Villa v Bournemouth clash, Fulham dominated for most of the contest but had to wait till the 61st minute to have their opening goal scored.

Everton weren’t going to go down easy though, as they found a way to equalise in the 96th minute to escape the contest with a draw.

The premier league action continues on Monday morning, with Ange Postecoglou’s Spurs side travelling to Crystal Palace in the hope of gaining three points to push themselves inside the top five of the table.

Matchday nine is concluded with a mouth-watering contest between Arsenal and Liverpool, with both sides having their eyes firmly set on challenging for the title this season.
