Incoming Dolphins head coach Kristian Woolf has confirmed his interest in acquiring game-breaking props ahead of the 2025 season.
The Dolphins fell agonisingly short of a finals berth in their second season after they lost a sudden death final round match against the Newcastle Knights.
Woolf succeeds Wayne Bennett after two seasons at the helm and whilst he’s confident the roster for 2025 is a finals calibre team, Woolf is still eager to bring in more talent.
“We haven’t got anyone targeted specifically for 2025. ,” Woolf told SENQ.
“We do have quite a few targets for 2026 (but) our roster for 2025 is a pretty stable one.
“We are definitely looking at middle forwards because we had some middle forwards retire from the game.
“Daniel Saifiti is a great fit for 2025 but we’ll certainly need more (players) around him.
“We are always interested in talking to good players and if good players come up that we think can help us then we’ll definitely have a look.
“We do have a bit of cap space and that’s something we have done really well over the last few years.
“We have also been really disciplined (with managing our salary cap (but) we have space there for people who we really think are going to improve the squad and make a big difference.”
Woolf is currently coaching Tonga in the Pacific Championship and they face reigning champions New Zealand on Saturday night in Auckland.
