Jamie Kah has identified a trio of horses in particular that punters should be watching closely this weekend.

The four-day Flemington Carnival kicks off with Derby Day this Saturday and star jockey Kah has plenty of quality rides.

Kah will hop aboard South Australian training duo Will Clarken and Niki O’Shea’s Kuroyanagi in the Group 3 Vanity Stakes (1400m) and is excited after riding her at Trackwork Breakfast at headquarters on Tuesday morning.

“I’m really keen on Will’s horse (Kuroyanagi) this weekend,” Kah told SENTrack’s Giddy Up.

“Really, really keen on it. She was just fantastic this morning.”

The last-start winner (for Blake Shinn) is currently rated a $15 chance with Sportsbet for Saturday’s Vanity.

Kah will also partner with Ciaron Maher’s Another Wil in The Damien Oliver (1400m).

The racing world lost beloved owner and breeder Colin McKenna last weekend and Kah believes his presence will be felt when she goes around in his royal blue and lime silks in the Group 2 event.

“Obviously I’m riding Another Wil on Saturday and there’s going to be someone watching down on us,” she added.

“So hopefully it gives him a little extra oomph.

“Both of those are the ones I’m looking forward to this week.”

Another Wil is the $3.60 second favourite behind stablemate Jimmysstar who is $2.50 with Sportsbet.

The third of Kah’s strong rides this Saturday is Amelia’s Jewel in the Group 1 Empire Rose (1600m).

She was galloped by Kah’s partner Ben Melham on Tuesday morning and will wear the blinkers at Flemington.

“I’ve got a great book of rides this weekend, including Amelia’s Jewel,” Kah said further.

“My lovely partner went down and galloped her for me this morning. I’ll give him a call after this and see how she went.

“This weekend I’ve just got a fantastic book of rides.”

Amelia’s Jewel is currently priced at $5 on the second line of betting for the Empire Rose behind Atishu ($4.6) and equal with Orchestral.

Kah will also ride Godolphin colt Traffic Warden in the Group 1 Coolmore Stud Stakes (1200m).
