Australian white-ball star Glenn Maxwell is eyeing a return to Test cricket.
Joining SEN’s Gerard Whateley to discuss his new book The Showman, Maxwell revealed that he is hoping to play in the two-Test series against Sri Lanka in January and February.
While the Victorian isn’t considered much chance to play for his nation in red-ball cricket at home, his unique skillset including his spin bowling could make him a genuine option to head to Sri Lanka.
As things stand, Maxwell had played seven Tests for Australia, with all of them coming in the subcontinent, and he hopes that he can add to that number in 2025 after getting through a four-day game for Victoria’s 2nd XI in recent weeks.
The blistering all-rounder discussed his plans for the 2024/25 summer, his Sheffield Shield plans, coming back from his horrific leg injury, the time Virat Kohli blocked him on Instagram and much more!
