Prominent owner John O’Neill has provided a couple of tips for Oaks Day at Flemington.

He and his ownership group, headed by Ozzie Kheir, will have talented three-year-old filly Bold Bastille go around in the Group 3 Red Roses Stakes (1100m).

Fresh off tipping listeners into Gringotts and St Lawrence at Randwick on Cup Day, O’Neill is keen on Bold Bastille who will be ridden by Mark Zahra.

“There’s a lovely sprinter that we’ve saved up in Bold Bastille,” O’Neill said on SEN.

“She’s running in the Group 3 Roses over 1100m, so you can have a good bet on it. Obviously gamble responsibly.”

Bold Bastille, trained by Ben, Will & JD Hayes, is currently priced at $4.60 with Sportsbet for the Red Roses (Race 7) which jumps at 4:30pm AEDT.

O’Neill’s second tip comes in the form of the much-maligned Light Infantry Man in the Listed Chester Manifold Stakes (1600m).

The import is unplaced in seven Australian runs but could improve at Flemington for trainer Ciaron Maher.

“Then the old favourite that we’ve got ‘J-Mac’ sitting on in the last and will be up on the pace, Light Infantry Man,” he said.

“We do have other runners but those two are the best.”

Light Infantry Man, who will be ridden by James McDonald, is the $5.50 equal second favourite in Race 9 at 5:50pm AEDT.

Trainer Wayne Hawkes also provided one for the listeners which runs in the Group 3 Inglis Golden Gift (1100m) at Rosehill on the weekend.

“Sydney, Race 6, No.5 on Saturday,” Hawkes said.

“I’ve got a horse called West Of Swindon. An unraced two-year-old… that’s all I’m saying.”

West Of Swindon, owned by Qatar Bloodstock, will be ridden by Tyler Schiller and is currently priced at $8.50 in Race 6 at 3:30pm AEDT on Saturday.
