The Champions Mile runner at an “outrageous price”

Campbell Brown has given a big push for My Oberon in the Champions Mile on Saturday.

The Annabel Neasham and Rob Archibald-trained galloper has been consistent this preparation without winning and he heads to Flemington on the weekend primed for a peak run following his third placing last start in the King Charles Stakes.

He’s currently rated a $21 chance in the 1600m feature and Brown believes that price is “outrageous” given the form he brings to Champions Day.

“Outrageous price for My Oberon,” Brown said on SENTrack.

“He was second behind Fangirl three starts, he was beaten not far in the Epsom where I thought he was huge and then he came third in the King Charles where I thought he was massive.

“I’ve been backing this horse the place, this horse is flying and so is his stable.

“$21 for me seems way way overs.

“I think when you’re $4.50-$5 to place you can really load up on that but I honestly would be surprised if the horse actually won.

“He’s not out of that company at all and you’re getting double and triple the price.”
