North Melbourne goes into Saturday’s AFLW Grand Final as heavy favourites, hoping to complete what would be a season without a single loss.

Outside of their draw with Geelong, the Kangaroos have been unstoppable this year, leading the competition for point scored and fewest points conceded.

They will face a Brisbane side no stranger to this stage as this will be their sixth AFLW Grand Final – seasons three and six being the only years without the Lions in the decider.

Brisbane defeated North Melbourne last year, making this a fascinating Grand Final rematch. The Kangas did batter the Lions in round one.

The Roos’ path to this moment has been clear. They entered the competition and immediately assembled the most talented list in the league, but were never able to translate it to finals success.

They held off a very strong Adelaide side in the first week of finals before flexing their might and battering Port in the Prelim.

Can North Melbourne finally reach the top off the mountain or will Brisbane go back-to-back and claim their third AFLW premiership in five seasons?

Given what the Roos have accomplished this season, it’s impossible to tip against them. Particularly given how little energy they would have expended in the last fortnight.

They should be fresh and hungry to finally hold up the AFLW premiership cup.
